Tian Liang is principled, senior in manner, and drawn to responsibility for others. It often reads as older than its years, and charts with this star prominent frequently describe someone who was the sensible one early. There is genuine moral seriousness here, and a real willingness to be inconvenienced for other people.
The star is classically associated with rescue — it appears in charts where difficulties arrive and are then survived, often through help that turns up at the right moment. Traditional material calls this 逢凶化吉, misfortune turning to fortune, and treats it as this star's signature.
The failure mode is preachiness and a certain aloofness. Tian Liang holds standards and is not always quiet about them, and its protectiveness can shade into a paternalism that the protected party never asked for. It is also, for all its warmth toward people in general, a somewhat solitary star.
