Bing (丙) is the third heavenly stem and the yang form of Fire. If Bing is your Day Master, it is the stem above your day pillar, and every other character in the chart is read in relation to it.

Bing is the sun, and the sun does not choose who it falls on. That is the whole character in one line: outward, constant, impossible to do quietly. Bing warms whatever is in front of it without being asked and without much calculation about whether it is deserved.
This makes Bing easy to like and easy to find. It is the stem most associated with visibility — people know where a Bing stands, often before the Bing has decided. Generosity is genuine rather than strategic, and reciprocity is not really tracked.
The cost is fuel. Where Ding Fire (丁) warms one room efficiently, Bing lights a field, and Bing charts frequently show someone who has given out considerably more than came back, then treated the resulting exhaustion as a personal failing rather than arithmetic. Bing's practice is not learning to shine less; it is learning that reserves are finite.
Fire is produced by Wood and controls Metal; Water controls it and Earth drains it. For Bing this means Wood is support and learning, Metal is wealth, Water is authority and pressure, and Earth is output and expression. Bing is the one stem that traditionally does not fear Water in moderation — the sun is not extinguished by rain — but the chart as a whole still decides.

Classical BaZi grades a stem by the season it was born into — the 旺相休囚死 scale. Fire peaks in summer, is supported in spring, and is at its weakest in winter when Water rules.

Fire corresponds to Red / purple, the numbers 2, 7, and the direction South. These are traditional correspondences for the element itself. They are not a prescription — whether Fire is helpful to you depends on your whole chart, not on your Day Master alone.

The day stem is 丙 and the birth month is 子 — midwinter, when Water rules and Fire is at its weakest. A Bing born here is the sun in December: still the sun, but working against the season. Wood in the rest of the chart becomes disproportionately valuable as fuel. Note also that Singapore ran on UTC+7:30 before 1982, which is exactly the kind of correction that can move a borderline day pillar.
